THE PROBLEM:

Most Boxing Cues Ignore How the Human Body Actually Works

You’ve probably heard:

  • “Turn the hip.”

  • “Keep your hands up.”

  • “Stay light on your feet.”

But if your joints aren’t stacked properly, your muscles aren’t recruiting in the right sequence, or your movement is leaking energy—those cues only get you so far.

Traditional boxing classes fail to translate techniques to the everyday person. This class will provide an opportunity to apply Functional Patterns training to boxing so you can learn how to move your body better as a system.

Without a strong foundation, boxing becomes compensatory: you push instead of transfer force, burn out faster, and risk nagging injuries that stall progress.

Functional Patterns + Boxing Fundamentals

  • This 2-day intensive will help you build (or rebuild) your boxing movement from the ground up using the principles of Functional Patterns—so your punch efficiency, footwork, and mobility come from how your body is designed to move.

  • You will experience this through a combination of
    • guided drills
    • targeted correctives
    • boxing-specific applications
    • and defense techniques addressing your compensatory patterns
